SHORT JOB DESCRIPTION:

As ‘Marketing & Communication manager’ you’re in charge of the marketing and communication activities at FSC Belgium. As part of a small team, you closely work together with other staff members, to plan, coordinate and execute all activities related to both the communication and the marketing activities. Being part of a global organisation, you also cooperate with international colleagues both from the international level of FSC, as well as with colleagues from other national or regional offices.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As ‘Marketing&communication manager’ the roles and responsibilities are many, and the list below is a non-limitative listing of tasks/roles/activities.

• Lead the maintenance and further creation of a variety of communication tools/channels, including our (national) website, social media, communication materials (both digital as printed.
• Collaboration with international marketing & communication colleagues, with the ambition to constructively cooperate in international communication activities that have relevance for the Belgian market;
• Write, translate and update selected FSC documents, websites, articles and stories and proactively share Belgian news items of relevance internationally
• Build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both within different industries as with social and environmental organisations at Belgian level, to assist them in their needs and opportunities around marketing and communication about FSC
• Attend and represent FSC at trade fairs, training courses and meetings/events as required both in Belgium as occasionally abroad;
• Coordinate relationships with ‘promotional licence holders’ based in Belgium;
• Coordinate our media monitoring and the outreach to Belgian media, including the handling of media enquiries from journalists in collaboration with or in support of other team members.

REQUIREMENTS:

Working Education and Training:

• Degree or equivalent training or experience in Marketing and/or Communication.

Working Experience, Style and Skills:

• Good time management skills:
• Ability to perform well while handling simultaneous functions;
• Solution oriented attitude to work;
• Service oriented attitude to work;
• A strong sense for diligence and accuracy;
• Ability to plan and organise work independently.

Languages:

• Flemish or French as mother tongue, and sufficient knowledge of the other language (spoken and written).
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Computer Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with:

• Standard software packages (MS Office);
• Content Management Systems (webpage, social media platforms management required).

Communication Skills:

• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills;
• Active-listening skills.

Others:

• Driver’s licence

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

• Working Hours: 38 h/week (half time or 4/5th negotiable)
• Duration of Employment: Temporary contract of 1 year - extension possible
• Starting Date: 01/04/2024 (but flexible, sooner also option).
• Salary: according to sector and experience + group insurance (pension saving) + sodexo meal and ecocheques
